Musings of a travelbug

I’ve always loved sunflowers. They are a particularly bright and cheery flower which brings a warm smile on someone who looks upon them. The same applies to me as and more so because yellow is one of my favorite colours.

I always wanted to visit a field of sunflowers and that chance befell on me recently.

I was at an impasse, thinking about what to do on a particular weekend in September when I heard from a friend that the sunflower fields in Sundarapandiapuram had bloomed and is in season.

I didn’t feel like letting this opportunity slip. And surely, I boarded a bus to Tenkasi the next morning itself.

After a fairly long bus ride, I reached the place and saw the fields and it was all but underwhelming. It was not as I had envisioned visiting the fields would be and felt dejected and wanting to go back home.

After a while looking at the fields from outside, I thought to myself, “Came all the way here. Might as well go into fields and see how it is.” And that was the best decision I took that day.

The disappointment I felt when I reached the place had completely evaporated and I was happy and excited as hell.

I was running between the flowers, taking lots of photos and videos, jumping up and down with joy.

I must say, I was astonished by the beauty of this place.

It was a very memorable experience and I will surely go there somewhere down the line.
